Right then, that is it from this 'Mini Ashes' where Australia Champions brushed aside the England Champions with ease. However, the biggest clash in the WCL 2024 is not far away. Yes, it is India Champions up against Pakistan Champions in a blockbuster encounter. That game will be starting soon and you can just switch tabs to enjoy all the coverage of that match. Cheers!
Brett Lee, the victorious skipper of Australia Champions is also the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his amazing bowling spell. He says that its a nice feeling to be here and do good once again for the country. He adds that he is really proud of his team as they are doing brilliantly well against all these superb sides in the tournament. He says that it is a honor to captain Australia and play side by side with such good players. He finishes by saying that it is very refreshing to play against Kevin Pietersen and Ian Bell once again and they look as sharp as ever.
Presentation Time...
Earlier in the game, England Champions posted a below-par score with only Ian Bell top-scoring with 45 runs but they would have wanted more from the other batters. Brett Lee was excellent for Australia Champions and picked up three wickets while Ben Laughlin and Dan Christian chipped in a couple each. While chasing, the Aussies openers once again got going from the start and added 88 runs for the first wicket setting up a nice platform for them. The England Champions bowlers were taken apart and did not have any answers to the onslaught from the openers. They also dropped a couple of chances but managed to pick up four wickets with Owais Shah getting two while Chris Schofield and Usman Afzaal taking one each. However, the game was gone by then and they will have to regroup and come back stronger in the next one.
Australia Champions got off to a flier with Aaron Finch and Shaun Marsh once again smashing it all around the mark in the Powerplay. The latter was dismissed after a quickfire 42 while the skipper continued the momentum and notched up his second fifty of the tournament. However, even after losing both the openers in quick succession, did not slow them down as Ben Dunk came in and played a few lusty blows while it was the two big hitters, Dan Christian and Ben Cutting who finished the game off with six overs to spare.
Australia Champions make it two wins in a row! Another dominating performance from them and they get the bragging rights in cricket's oldest rivalry. England Champions were on the back foot right from the start and they just could not recover to challenge the Aussies.

Stunning effort by Ryan Sidebottom! Who says these guys are above 40? They can give today's youngsters a run for their money! On Thursday, it was Usman Afzaal against South Africa and today, it is the left-arm seamer. Floated up, on off, Dan Christian backs away and slogs this, aiming to clear long on. By no means does he make good contact but still, manages to get it in the gap. However, Sidebottom races to his left, yes, literally races, throws himself in the air and pushes the ball back in play. Saves three runs for his side! Sensational stuff. The crowd loves it.
