Earlier in the game, after electing to bat first, Gujarat did not get the start they were looking for and lost half of their side at just 48 in the 11th over. It was then for Bharti Fulmali and Kathryn Bryce to knit a partnership of 68 for the sixth wicket and keep them in the game. The duo helped the side post a fighting total on a track that had a bit of grip and bounce. For Delhi, Marizanne Kapp, Shikha Pandey and Minnu Mani picked up a couple each while Jess Jonassen took one as well.
The wasn't much from the bowlers of Gujarat despite those couple of early wickets. The bowlers tried their best but the target wasn't big enough and the boundaries weren't big either as Shafali Verma cleared them for fun. Tanuja Kanwer got two wickets and that was all it from the bowlers of Gujarat.
Clinical Delhi seals the top spot as they defeat Gujarat by 7 wickets and they now will head directly to the Finals of the Women's T20 League, 2024! Chasing down a low total, Delhi were off to flying colors as both openers scored freely and gave the side a blistering start. Delhi managed to score 45 losing 2 wickets in the powerplay. Skipper Meg Lanning was looking good but she was runout while Alice Capsey chipped one straight to the fielder. Jemimah Rodrigues and Shafali Verma then batted well together and cruised to the total. Shafali Verma fell in the very end but made sure the job was well done for her side!
