That's it then! Shakib Al Hasan is handed the trophy. Hope you enjoyed the coverage. That is it from us then, it is goodbye from here.
Shakib Al Hasan says they played really well in this series. Adds they will look to build from here for the next year's World Cup. Reckons it was a tricky wicket but Das, Shanto played well and later the bowlers stuck to their plans. Shares it was crucial to take the wicket of Malan and Jos Buttler in one over and from there on they had the momentum. Shares they are looking forward to the next challenge.
Najmul Hossain Shanto wins the Player of the Series award. He says he is happy to win the series. Adds it helps the bowlers when fielders also give their all. Hopes to continue his good performance in the upcoming series.
Litton Das wins the Player of the Match award! He says it is challenging with the new ball but things kick as the ball starts to get old. Applauds the performance of Shanto as he took away some pressure from himm.
Jos Buttler says he is disappointed to lose the series but Bangladesh did outplay them. Adds they did bowl well in the final phase to restrict them. Reckons he is disappointed with himself to get run out, he could have dived and it could have helped the team.
...Presentation time...
Since winning the first two games of the ODI series, England nose-dive and there is so much to rethink for the reigning World champions. Jos Buttler will be really disappointed as they could have at least avoided the whitewash.
The series loss had a morale effect on England and it was seen in their fielding. They though did well with the ball but it was their batting yet again that didn't help. Bangladesh have so much to take from this series. The way they batted, fielded and bowled, this will give them the utmost confidence for the upcoming series. Bangladesh looked 10-15 runs short at the start and till the halfway stage but the impact came later on as they defended the score brilliantly in the second phase. Litton Das was star with the bat and it was a collective performance with the ball.
Let me remind you, England were 100 for 1 at one stage and in full control of the game with Dawid Malan and Jos Buttler cruising through. However, Dawid Malan got out after his fifty but we feel the game turned when Jos Buttler fell in the very next delivery. That just shattered the batting line up with wickets falling one after the other. England do have a long tail but throughout this series, they have failed to create an impact.
It felt like these two were playing with the series still alive, it was that kind of game but credit to Hasan Mahmud for keeping his nerves. A series that every Bangladeshi will live in the upcoming years. They have created history.
