That is it from this game! Trinbago Knight Riders are out of the competition while Guyana Amazon Warriors have secured their spot for the playoffs. On 25th September, Jamaica Tallawahs will take on Saint Lucia Kings at 7.30 pm (2 pm GMT). The penultimate game of the group stage, so do join us early for the build up as well. Cheers!
Shakib Al Hasan is the Player of the Match for his all-round performance. He says it was important to win and he is happy to contribute. Adds their attitude was superb and that helped them and even the crowd support helped them. Shares that the fans backed them completely. Reckons Rahmanullah Gurbaz has been superb, he is applying himself well. On the pitch, there was help for the bowlers but they did well in the middle order to control the game.
...Presentation coming up...
There was so much dew that it felt, Trinbago Knight Riders will make a comeback at some point but even in tough conditions the Warriors stepped up! It was their spinners who run through the opposition. Superb performance with the bat first, thanks to Rahmanullah Gurbaz's fifty and cameos from Odean Smith, Shimron Hetmyer and Shakib Al Hasan. It felt like Trinbago Knight Riders have given away bit too many runs and it turned out true.
The chase never took off for Trinbago Knight Riders! The only big stand was between Samit Patel and Colin Munro. Yet again they asked too much from the power-hitters who under pressure gave away their wicket. Same story in the whole season for them and so much to sit and think about for Kieron Pollard, despite having one of the best teams on papers, they are knocked out first of the competition.
What a performance this is from Guyana Amazon Warriors! With this win, they qualify for the next round and go second in the point tables for now. A complete performance from the team who turned up at Guyana, at their home ground and changed their fortunes, winning three games in a row. For Trinbago Knight Riders they are out of the playoffs race for the first time ever in the tournament's history.
