Jack Taylor is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his crucial knock of 27 runs off 13 balls. He says he is extremely happy with the win and how he contributed to the win. Adds that they bowled really well in the first innings and Faf gave them a good start at the top. Mentions that Karim Janat is a top-quality player and played a good hand at the other end. Presentation Time...
Earlier in the game, Bangla Tigers posted a fighting total on the board but only because of that 31-run last over. Dasun Shanaka led the charge with a fantastic half-century but losing just one wicket, they should have got more runs. Amir Hamza Hotak was the only wicket-taker for Morrisville Samp Army but it did not matter much because overall, they bowled well keeping the runs in check and then the batters finished the job to take the two points.
Bangla Tigers, on the other hand, will be a bit disappointed but to be honest, their batters should have done much more. Josh Little did strike early, and Shakib Al Hasan also bowled beautifully with two wickets and giving away nothing, but Rashid Khan was expensive and could not make any impact. They managed to take the game to the last over but needed a lot more from the other bowlers to defend this target.
Morrisville Samp Army didn't start that well losing Sharjeel Khan for a duck. However, Faf du Plessis once again showed why he is one of the best in white-ball cricket and wasted no time to put the pressure on the bowlers. He found good support from Andries Gous who also smashed a quick-fire 24 off just 13 balls. However, after losing both of them, they did find themselves in a difficult situation but the aggressive style of Jack Taylor and the calmness of Karim Janat got them over the one quite comfortably in the end.
What a win for the Morrisville Samp Army! An extremely well-executed chase, and they get home with three balls to spare. Samp Army continues their unbeaten streak over the Bangla Tigers and extends it to three consecutive wins in this league.
