Presentation Time...
Earlier in the game we saw a brilliant batting effort by Matthew Breetzke accompanied by Heinrich Klaasen. JJ Smuts handled the innings lower down the order but Naveen-ul-Haq dominated the final stages with a couple of good shots providing a strong end to the innings. Senuran Muthusamy and Daryn Dupavillon were the pick of the bowlers for Pretoria Capitals with their three wickets each. While chasing, the Capitals were in the game for a long time, but their middle order just did not show up here and they go empty-handed yet again.
Durban's Super Giants showed their dominance straight away as Wiaan Mulder struck in the very second ball of the innings courtesy off a brilliant catch by Junior Dala. Naveen-ul-Haq came in and dismissed Kyle Verreynne who was just starting to look aggressive. Dala impressed with the ball as well and he cleaned up Will Jacks and Colin Ackermann in almost the same manner bringing his team back into the game. Noor Ahmad was very economical and cleaned up Colin Ingram. Senuran Muthusamy was sent back by a brilliant throw from Matthew Breetzke after that, they gained full control of the game. Dala came back for his last over and completed a brilliant fifer and helped his side to a comfortable win.
Pretoria Capitals needed the strong start but Phil Salt had to depart early in the innings followed by Kyle Verreynne who too walked back after playing some good shots. Will Jacks continued the innings and played a good knock of 41 runs off just 26 balls, but he couldn’t carry on either. After that, none of the batters could put up a convincing knock and wickets fell like bowling pins. Rilee Rossouw played a really struggling knock but he continued to hold the fort from one end until he was sent back by Junior Dala before he could showcase his skills. Adil Rashid and Eathan Bosch tried their best with some lusty blows at the death but ultimately the fell short by 8 runs.
Another comprehensive win for Durban's Super Giants! They continue their momentum and confirm no matter what happens, they will finish on top of the table. This has been a complete effort from them. Firstly with that entertaining knock from Matthew Breetzke, and then Junior Dala capped off with an amazing five-wicket haul. The home crowd surely got the worth for their money. Pretoria Capitals faces another disappointing defeat and now qualification is not completely in their hands anymore.
