Aaron Hardie

That concludes the proceedings for this one-sided game. On Thursday, 19th January, it's Sydney Thunder vs Melbourne Renegades at 1.45 pm IST (8.15 am GMT) in a crucial tie as we head closer to the playoffs. Do join us in advance for the build-up. Cheers!
Aaron Hardie is the unanimous choice for the Player of the Match award. Says that they lost a few early wickets but they knew it was a good wicket and they could chase down the target. Mentions that he was batting at number 6 last season which is an important role but he is enjoying playing up in the order and is hopeful that he continues to play there. States that they knew they had three games left in the group stage and if they win all of them, they get a home finale, so it's a good start.
Earlier, it was a neat and clean bowling show from Perth Scorchers. They maintained the upper hand for most parts and it was the unlikely association between Tom Andrews and Nathan Ellis that stole a bit of momentum from them in the end overs. 146 though was never going to be enough and Perth Scorchers marched home with ease.
After losing two wickets inside the Powerplay, the pressure was on Perth Scorchers but they refused to crumble. Aaron Hardie delivered the goods yet again alongside his favourite partner Josh Inglis as the duo raised its second century stand this season. Hardie's stocks are rising with every game and his unbeaten 90 has to be one of the best knocks in this term. A word of praise for Inglis too who played second fiddle perfectly and never allowed Hobart Hurricanes to get back in the game.
Normalcy is restored! Perth Scorchers have immediately bounced back after their defeat against Sydney Sixers and have dethroned them from the top spot on the table. It was a game superbly set-up by their bowlers and then after the initial hiccups, the pair of Aaron Hardie and Josh Inglis joined forces to kill the chase with utmost ease. That's the class of the Scorchers, they are master chasers.

FOUR! That will be the game and it is fitting that Aaron Hardie should get the winning runs! Nathan Ellis bowls this full and strays down the leg side. Aaron Hardie gets bat on this and plays it past the short fine leg fielder for a boundary to deep backward square leg. The reigning champions continue to march ahead and they have absolutely dominated this game, winning by 7 wickets and with 15 balls to spare!

Riley follows the new batter down the leg side with a well-cooked yorker, Turner fails to dig it out cleanly.
Skipper Ashton Turner walks in next for the final rites. Perth Scorchers are one big hit away.

OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! Riley Meredith claims a wicket against the run of play but it is a little too late for the visitors! Bangs this in short and follows the batter as he looks to make room by moving down the leg side. The ball rises sharply as Josh Inglis looks to upper-cut this over the keeper's head. Gets a faint edge as it goes through to Matthew Wade behind the stumps. There is a lack of celebrations which is understandable as the umpire raises his finger. Perth Scorchers lose their third wicket but need just 6 runs more.

FOUR! This has been executed to perfection! Riley Meredith goes really full and on a leg stumps line. Josh Inglis reverse-hits this towards third man and collects four more runs. Brings up his fifty in style. Perth Scorchers are just one hit away from sealing a comprehensive win.
