The joint fastest fifty in the history of Indian Premier League smashed by Pat Cummins against Mumbai Indians, took Kolkata Knight Riders to the top of the Points Table. KKR were struggling during the chase but the way Cummins finished the match with 24 balls remaining, it helped KKR improve their Net Run Rate significantly. They took a huge leap surpassing Rajasthan Royals who are now in the second position. The third and fourth positions have been occupied by Gujarat Titans and Punjab Kings.

Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore with similar points, are standing in fifth and sixth places respectively due to their Net Run rate. Delhi Capitals are in seventh position with one win from two games while Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, and Sunrisers Hyderabad are yet to win a match and are standing in bottom places.

Orange Cap

Jos Buttler continues to enjoy the top position of the Orange Cap followed by Ishan Kishan from Mumbai Indians in the second. Ishan Kishan had a poor day at office against KKR but he managed to keep his place. Tilak Varma, another Mumbai Indians batter is ranked in the fourth place after impressing one and all again. Faf du Plessis and Deepak Hooda are in third and fifth places respectively.

Purple Cap

Umesh Yadav continued to impress with his spell of 4-0-25-1 against Mumbai Indians. With nine wickets to his name, he continues to have the Purple Cap followed by Yuzvendra Chahal, Avesh Khan, Rahul Chahar, and Wanindo Hasaranga in the next four positions on the Points Table of IPL 2022. After last IPL match between KKR and MI, Tymal Mills is standing in sixth place. Tim Southee, despite not playing the match is in eight place.
