The Indian cricket team has landed in Durban for their upcoming series against South Africa, set to commence with the first T20I on December 10. However, a few key players are yet to join the squad.

Star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who was on a tour of Europe, has not arrived in South Africa. Additionally, opener Shubman Gill, who took a post-World Cup holiday, is expected to fly in from the UK. Deepak Chahar, dealing with a family issue, is also set to join the squad, although the exact timeline remains uncertain.

Jadeja, serving as the vice-captain for the three T20Is, and Gill are crucial members of the team, and their delayed arrival has prompted attention. Sources from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have confirmed that all players have received permission to join the team, and arrangements are in place to ensure their timely presence in Durban before the series opener.

Deepak Chahar’s absence due to a family matter has not resulted in naming a replacement for him yet. The BCCI is supportive of the players’ personal situations and anticipates their arrival well ahead of the first match.

The BCCI has also chosen to send two selectors, SS Das and Salil Ankola, to South Africa. This decision aligns with the busy schedule, including T20Is, ODIs, Tests, and three India A games.

The Indian team is scheduled to begin its training sessions at Kingsmead ground on Friday. The series consists of two more T20Is on December 12 and 14, followed by three ODIs on December 17, 19, and 21. The Test series kicks off on Boxing Day at Centurion, with the second Test at Newlands in Cape Town from January 3. Additionally, there will be three India A games interspersed between these fixtures.

The arrival of key players, including Jadeja, Gill, and Chahar, is eagerly awaited by fans and will be crucial for India as they embark on a challenging tour against South Africa.
