Further says that they didn't assess the conditions really well in their previous game against Thailand but in this game, they executed their plans well.
Harmanpreet Kaur the skipper of India Women says it went wrong in the middle as they were trying to give chances to the new batters. Adds that in the middle overs they fumbled a bit and played too many dot balls which cost them in the end. Further says that it was a great opportunity for the new batters to execute themselves but they failed to do it. Finishes by saying that they should not repeat the mistakes they have made in this game.
Stay tuned for the presentation...
Earlier in the match, Pakistan Women elected to bat first after winning the toss. They found themselves in trouble at the start but the partnership of 76 runs between Nida Dar and Bismah Maroof took them to a respectable total of 137. In reply, India Women never got going and they succumbed under pressure and ended up losing by 13 runs.
India Women got off to a positive start with Sabbhineni Meghana playing some fine strokes. However, she could not carry on and perished. Jemimah Rodrigues followed her soon and India Women were struggling at 29 for 2 at the end of the Powerplay! Pakistan Women never let the momentum get away from them and they kept grabbing wickets at regular intervals to keep India Women under the pump. None of the batters from India found any sort of rhythm, and as the pressure kept piling up India lost wickets. Richa Ghosh came in and struck some lusty blows towards the end and gave India Women a slight glimmer of hope, but she too failed to stick around till the end. For Pakistan Women it was Nashra Sandhu who grabbed three wickets, while Sadia Iqbal and Nida Dar claimed two wickets each. The pendulum kept swinging, but it finally settled on Pakistan's side.
What a thrilling contest we have witnessed here! An India-Pakistan game never fails to disappoint! Drama, excitement, and entertainment this game had it all. In the end, it was Pakistan Women who held their nerve and defeated arch-rivals India Women. A historic win here as this is just the third time they have defeated India in T20I! After an embarrassing defeat against Thailand 24 hours back, Pakistan Women have turned things around and have beaten the tournament favorites, India.
