Luke Wood, the Player of the Match. He says he just tries to execute his plans. Adds they had more experience in their line up and it paid off.
Babar Azam says they wanted this win. Adds they batted well, they were looking for a score around 180 and they got it. Reckons bowlers bowled well too but they'll hope to do well in the field now. Tells they tried a couple of things today and it worked out.
...Presentation...
Mohammad Rizwan says they'll learn from this game. Adds they were expecting to chase this down, they gave a few runs in the backend with the ball but should have chased it down. Reckons they change the batting order according to the conditions.
Defending a total which we felt was par, they got Mohammad Rizwan early. Khan and Hendricks then steadied the ship but when it was time to accelerate, Khan fell. Reeza and Malan batted brilliantly and got it down to almost 10 per over needed in the last 7. Salman Irshad and Paul Walter then got rid of the set batters and turned the back into their side’s favor. Multan’s tail wagged though and kept their side in the game. Luke Wood who was the pick of the bowlers, bowled a brilliant second last over which saw Multan needing 22 from the last. Iftikhar Ahmed did revive the hopes, it came down to him from the last two balls but Naveen-ul-Haq held his nerve and helped his side get over the line. A brilliant game and a deserving win for the visitors.
An absolute thriller of a game and it is Peshawar Zalmi who bag their first win beating Multan at their home. Not an easy task, they had to dig in deep but in the end, held their nerve and came out on top.
