That is all we have from here! We witnessed two clashes in which the team defending won the game, that too with a bonus point. Thank you for your company and we will back after a day's break. We have two more clashes our way on 17th February. The first game will see Titans and Highveld Lions battle it out at 1:30 pm IST (8:00 am GMT). Later in the day, Warriors will face Rocks at 6:00 pm IST (12:30 pm GMT). But make sure you join us in advance. Goodbye and take care!
Wayne Parnell, the skipper of Western Province, is also the BATTER OF THE MATCH! He says that he is really proud of the boys. Adds that they need to do better with the bat, especially in the death overs. Says that it is about taking it one game at a time and it is nice to see different guys stepping up in each game. Mentions that his message to the players is to be brave and play entertaining cricket. Finishes by saying that they need to stay grounded moving forward as they have three important games coming up.
Beuran Hendricks is the BOWLER OF THE MATCH! He says that it was a special feeling to get those wickets early on. Adds that he wasn't feeling his hundred percent at the start of the game but it feels nice to put in a performance like that. Tells that it was a happy day for them as they got over the line and are still unbeaten.
Stay tuned for the presentation.
To be fair, North West Dragons did not have a big target to chase and should have put on a good fight here. But the bowlers of Western Province had different plans. The pacers roared at the start as Beuran Hendricks took 4 wickets in the Powerplay while Wayne Parnell took 1 to break the back of North West Dragons. After that, the Dragons could not get back in the game as Junaid Dawood then took 3 wickets in the middle phase while Mihlali Mpongwana took 2 to seal the game. North West Dragons would be very disappointed with their effort with the bat. Yes, there was a bit of swing at the start but they should have done a lot better here.
What a show by Western Province! Their unbeaten run continues and this was a sensational show by them. They get a bonus point too after hammering North West Dragons in this encounter!
