West Indies beat England by 9 wickets

So, that is it from this one-sided affair. The hosts kick off the series with a win and this will give them much boost after their recent poor form. The second T20I will be played on Monday, 24th January at 1:30 am IST (8 pm GMT). But the build up will begin much in advance. Do join us for that. Till then, Adios and cheers!
Kieron Pollard, the victorious skipper, says that he is happy for the boys and is really happy with the young boys. Mentions that Holder knows how to bowl here as it's his ground. Tells that overall, it was a superb show from the bowlers. Says that the batters know the importance of coming in and building a partnership and hanging in the middle for a while. Tells that Pooran finished the game well because he generally starts hitting upfront. Adds that in less than 24 hours, they have to repeat the same performance. Ends by saying that tough times don't last but tough people always do and he always tries to give his 100 percent.
Eoin Morgan, the skipper of England, says that the conditions they played two-three days ago were challenging. Says they were outplayed with the condition and hopes to bounce back. Mentions that there is a little bit more bounce and they need to read the uneven bounce well. Tells that you get tested in international cricket and they just try to be positive as possible, as the conditions get better as they go ahead. Ends by saying that, they always get great support in Barbados as they have a huge amount of fans here.
Jason Holder is the Player of the Match. He says that it feels good to perform for the team. Mentions that the last series against Ireland was a disappointing one but is happy with his performance. Tells that consistency is the key for them and hopes that they keep performing the same way. Ends by saying that they have got a hectic schedule and they need to manage themselves well.
... The presentation ...
Earlier in the day, it was a dominant performance from the Windies bowlers. Holder ended with four wickets in total to earn his best bowling figures in the T20s and was well supported by other bowlers as well. Later, Brandon King's half century was enough as they chased down comfortably and the hosts go 1-0 up against England.
It was always going to be difficult when you have such a low score in front of you. England bowlers tried their best but nothing happened for them. Only Adil Rashid got a way to break the partnership but that was not enough to get them any success. In the end, it was just a day to forgot and England will look to come back stronger.
A comprehensive win for West Indies and they go 1-0 up in this 5-match series. Their bowlers did most of the job. The openers, King and Hope did well to play it nicely without anything dramatic. The pitch was showing uneven bounce and both took their time and kept the scoreboard ticking. Shai Hope fell but Pooran didn't do anything uncharacteristic and Brandon King played a mature knock which helped his team to take the lead. Everyone actually expected West Indies to go bonkers and smash boundaries to chase this down but this is the new Windes who not just show their power but play with more maturity and will show they have this swift side of them as well.
