While the Men in Blue is the only team on the ICC Rankings table that remains unstranded with the highest winning streak, South Africa leads on 2nd rank with having won all the matches except one. India has won a total of 5 out of 5 matches and South Africa emerged victorious in 4 out of 5 matches after breaking the record for highest team score in the history of World Cup. The Proteas are all flooded with a striking line-up of batsmen, bowlers and all-rounders. With Kagiso Rabada currently leading the team’s bowling attack, it will be interesting to witness if the 28-year old seamer will make heads turn in the match against Pakistan today.
Rabada picks his favourite Indian player!
While speaking on a Star Sports show, Kagiso Rabada went on to claim that his current favourite Indian player which he adores the most is none other than masterful all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. It is really surprising that Rabada did not pick the likes of India’s top performing batsmen and bowlers like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah and chose Ravindra Jadeja instead. Well, there is no doubt that Ravindra Jadeja is India’s leading all-rounder and catch-master who has significantly contributed in all the victories recently.
Speaking of his idol
While Rabada hasn’t shared the dressing room with Jadeja in any of the matches, he has certainly shared the dressing room with his former fellow teammate ABD Villiers, the legend. On being asked about his cricket idol, Rabada asserted that ABD Villiers is his idol that he looks upon and because he has the ability to inspire generations to come.
Kagiso Rabada who has played a total of 60 Tests, 97 ODIs, and 56 T20Is for South Africa, was fortunate enough to to have played with ABD Villiers during his early cricket playing days.
