Indian pacer Prasidh Krishna praised Suryakumar Yadav’s captaincy during the ongoing T20I series against Australia, emphasizing the similarity between Suryakumar’s batting and leadership style. Suryakumar, appointed captain for the series, has garnered acclaim for his strategic field settings and bowling changes, guiding India to a 2-0 lead in the series.
“I think it shows in the way he (Suryakumar) bats is very similar in his captaincy as well. He trusts his players, backs all of us to do what we want to do and he’s there right behind us to support if there’s anything going wrong,” said Krishna, highlighting the trust and freedom within the team.
Reflecting on his experience as part of India’s ODI World Cup 2023 squad, Krishna described it as a massive learning curve. Despite not getting a game, he emphasized the insights gained from observing preparations, analyzing conditions, and learning from experienced players.
In the second T20I, India posted a formidable 235/4, with significant contributions from Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Ishan Kishan. Krishna played a pivotal role, picking up three wickets in a high-scoring clash, securing India’s 44-run victory and a commanding 2-0 lead in the five-match series.
