The highly anticipated Indian Premier League (IPL) commenced on March 22, bringing back excitement for cricket enthusiasts. In the second match, Delhi Capitals faced off against Punjab Kings. Notably, this match marked the comeback of Rishabh Pant to cricket. Veteran English player Stuart Broad praised Pant, hailing him as a ‘Fearless Cricketer’. Pant’s return and Broad’s commendation added to the intrigue and excitement surrounding the IPL tournament.

Stuart Broad’s Big Remark:

Following a harrowing car accident in December 2022, Rishabh Pant has made a remarkable return to competitive cricket, gracing the IPL stage once again. His recovery journey serves as a beacon of inspiration for many. Former England pacer Stuart Broad, presently commentating for IPL 2024, hailed Pant as the most fearless batter he has encountered. Pant’s comeback injects a fresh wave of excitement into the tournament, with fans eagerly anticipating his performance on the cricketing stage once more.

While talking about this, Stuart Broad said, “Rishabh Pant is the most fearless batter I have played against, don’t be surprised if he tries to hit a boundary in the first ball (smiles).” Stuart Broad has arrived in India for the inaugural commentary stint in IPL 2024, marking his first visit to the country. A member of the Star Sports commentary team for this season, Broad disclosed that Rishabh Pant was the most fearless batsman he faced during his playing career.

Rishabh Pant’s Comeback:

Entering his third full season as the captain of Delhi Capitals and his first since 2022, Rishabh Pant’s leadership journey has been noteworthy. In his debut season as captain in 2021, Pant guided the Capitals to the top of the points table, winning 10 out of 14 matches with a total of 20 points. Additionally, Pant showcased his batting prowess, scoring 419 runs at an average of 34.91, including three half-centuries. However, in 2022, despite a better strike rate of 151.79, Pant’s run tally dropped to 340 runs from 14 league matches, without registering a single half-century.

In the comeback match, Rishabh Pant didn’t disappoint the fans. The wicketkeeper batter scored 18 runs in 13 balls with 2 boundaries. He batted with a strike rate of 138.46. In the first innings, DC played well. They set a target of 175 runs. On the other hand, Punjab gave a great start. In the second over, Punjab is 24/0.
