In the forthcoming IPL match, Sunrisers Hyderabad is set to face Chennai Super Kings in Hyderabad. Before the game, SRH’s head coach, Daniel Vettori, addressed the status of their key bowler, Wanindu Hasaranga, who traveled to Dubai for a medical consultation regarding his injury. Vettori emphasized the significance of Hasaranga’s recovery and expressed optimism about his potential return to the squad for the upcoming fixtures.
Hasaranga’s Injury:
Before the IPL commenced, Hasaranga participated in Sri Lanka‘s tour of Bangladesh, during which he sustained an injury to his left heel. Consequently, he was sidelined for several initial matches of the IPL with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). There’s a possibility that he may be absent for the entire IPL 2024 season. However, SRH’s head coach, Daniel Vettori, assured that they are closely monitoring the progress of their esteemed bowler and keeping abreast of his condition.
Vettori said, “ Hasaranga has visited a specialist and we are waiting for the reports to come. We are just hopeful that positive report comes out, and as soon as we have the reports, we will be making our decision.”
SRH’s Upcoming Fixture:
Following a disappointing 7-wicket defeat to Gujarat Titans, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) is gearing up to face Chennai Super Kings on their home ground. SRH has competed in three matches thus far, securing a victory against Mumbai Indians (MI) where they set an IPL record, but faltering in the other two encounters. Presently, they occupy the seventh spot on the points table.
Despite a strong start with the record-breaking win against MI, SRH’s campaign in IPL 2024 has been marred by inconsistency. The recent loss to Gujarat Titans highlighted areas needing improvement, particularly in their bowling and batting departments. As they prepare to face Chennai Super Kings, SRH will be aiming to rectify their shortcomings and bounce back with a convincing performance on home soil.
