The IPL is back in India. The tournament is back with all the glamour. On March 22, Royal Challengers Bengaluru will face Chennai Super Kings at the M. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Fans are all excited to see the Dhoni-Kohli duo again. Virat Kohli is coming back to cricket after a gap of 2 months. Before starting the tournaments, former RCB player Chris Gayle commented on Virat Kohli.

King’s Return to T20 Format:

Virat Kohli is poised to return to competitive cricket in the IPL 2024 opener, where Royal Challengers Bangalore will face Chennai Super Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. After a hiatus of two months, Kohli returns to the field, having played only two T20 matches against Afghanistan in January since IPL 2023. Amid uncertainties surrounding his spot in the Indian squad for the impending T20 World Cup, Kohli’s performance in this match will be closely scrutinized.

Virat Kohli’s international T20 appearances have been scarce in the past 14 months, having participated in only two T20Is. Notably, he and Rohit Sharma were brought back into the T20I fold for the series against Afghanistan in January earlier this year. While Rohit Sharma has been confirmed as the captain for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024, Kohli’s position remains uncertain. His recent form and performance in the IPL will likely play a significant role in determining his inclusion in the Indian squad for the prestigious tournament, intensifying the anticipation surrounding his return to the field.

Chris Gayle’s Remark on Virat Kohli:

Amid uncertainties about his future with Team India, Virat Kohli found support from RCB legend and former teammate Chris Gayle. In an interview, Gayle expressed confidence in Kohli’s ability, stating that the 35-year-old cricketer still had many years ahead of him to excel in all game formats.

Gayle said, “Very unique, the one and only Virat Kohli is still going and still going very strong. Still got a lot of years left in him to play all formats. We’ll see what calls he makes for himself and for Indian cricket as well.”

Virat Kohli is the legend of the game. Before entering the first game of the tournament, he is just a few runs away from completing 12000 runs in T20 cricket. Fans are waiting to see King conquering the stadium. On the other hand, Ruturaj Gaikwad will make his captaincy debut against RCB. A new battle is waiting for him.
