In Indian cricket, a player like Yuvraj Singh is rare. From stylish batting to creating magic with the ball even contributing to fielding, the left-handed Indian batter is an asset to the team. But this time, he catches the headline for an uncanny moment. Yuvraj Singh’s mother filed a complaint that cash and jewelry were stolen from his house. That news is creating buzz.
The Uncanny Moment:
Former all-rounder cricketer Yuvraj Singh’s mother, Shabnam Singh, has reported a burglary at her residence in Panchkula, Haryana, and the Haryana Police have initiated an investigation following her complaint. The incident occurred six months ago in September 2023, but the case has been officially registered now. Shabnam Singh filed the complaint at the MDC police station, pointing out that House-18 of MDC was targeted during the theft.
According to Singh, she had employed two house helpers at the time of the incident and has accused them of being involved in the theft. The stolen items and the extent of the loss have not been disclosed. The delayed reporting of the crime raises questions about the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Suspects and Next Step:
Shabnam Singh’s account unveils a concerning sequence of events. When she was away in Gurugram last autumn, she entrusted Lalita and Salinder with the responsibility of maintaining her residence. Upon her return on October 5, 2023, she was shocked to find that valuable items stored in a secured almirah on the first floor had gone missing. The stolen items, including cash and jewelry, were estimated to be worth ₹70,000. Her suspicions naturally fell on the former employees who had left under suspicious circumstances during the Diwali festivities.
In response to Shabnam Singh’s complaint, the local police acted swiftly and registered a case under Section 381 of the Indian Penal Code, which deals with theft by a servant or clerk. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the case. SHO Mansa Devi emphasized the delicate nature of the situation, highlighting the need to strike a balance between conducting a thorough investigation and managing media inquiries. Given the sensitivity of the case, revealing too many details to the public could potentially jeopardize efforts to apprehend the culprits.
